Testimonials:
"I used the hospital's [competitive breast pump] starting on 12/16, four hours after birth up until I received the Ameda Platinum Breast Pump on 12/18. At 1 pm on 12/18, I pumped 16 cc's using the [competitive breast pump]. At 4:00 pm on 12/18, I pumped 52 cc's using the Ameda Platinum Breast Pump.
"From the next 24 hours, I was pumping 44-60 cc's. At 4 pm on 12/19, I pumped 90 cc's. By 8 pm on 12/20, I pumped 150 cc's. And by 2 am on 12/21, I pumped 180 cc's.
"When we returned the Ameda Platinum Breast Pump, my son was still exclusively receiving pumped breast milk with occasional sessions at the breast so we could closely monitor his intake. Within two weeks, I was able to store 200 ounces in our freezer for our personal use and donate 160 to the Mothers' Milk Bank. To date, I have pumped 500 ounces for the milk bank, and I still have 140 ounces in the freezer, plus he is taking all feeds from the breast.
"I cannot express my gratitude for allowing me to use the Ameda Platinum Breast Pump. It had a tremendous impact on our NICU success, and as I shared by phone, the ability to focus on pumping gave me a sense of freedom and control in a situation where I had none. I am so grateful."

"As an exclusive pumper for 11-month-old twins, I can sincerely say that I have tried my fair share of breast pumps. My twins were born at 34 weeks via emergency c-section and spent 3 weeks in the NICU. Forced to pump to give my babies breastmilk, I learned the ins and outs of pumping pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive the support or encouragement to bring my babies to breast once their conditions improved. The twins were accustomed to their bottles and had neither the patience nor desire to try and latch, which meant more time at the pump for me.
"At 10 months my supply dipped. I decided it was time to step up my game plan and rent a hospital-grade pump. I was pleased with my Purely Yours and I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with the Ameda Platinum rental pump. Here are the things I love about this pump:
•Digital display—for speed and suction
•Timer—such a simple feature but so useful
•Efficient—I have been using this pump for about a month and have been able to maintain my supply
•Fairly Quiet—enough said
•Bottle holders—so you have a place to put the bottles without worrying about them falling over
•[No] worry about milk or moisture getting in the tubes
•Compatible with the Ameda Purely Yours personal use pump—no need to buy any extra parts, tubing, etc.
The Ameda Platinum rental pump is an excellent pump that comes highly recommended from an experienced pumper! Definitely worth the extra money if you are looking to establish or maintain your supply.

My pumping journey has been nothing noteworthy. I knew when pregnant that I wanted to breastfeed, and hoped I could make it to my daughter's first birthday. I purchased a competitor's pump prior to her birth because I would be a working mom, and I wanted to be prepared.
While in the hospital, during my daughter's 5-day NICU stay, I pumped regularly and exclusively breastfed my daughter, specifically instructing the nursing staff to not give her formula. When we went home, we continued on our very successful and positive breastfeeding relationship. I pumped occasionally, but since my daughter came to work with me, I didn't have a regular need for pumped milk. And since she refused a bottle, our efforts were in vain anyhow. When I did pump, it was out of extreme necessity (a business trip) and was awful. Painful. Pinchy. Swollen and irritated nipples. No letdown. Stressful.
I stopped pumping when she was about 5 months old. I packed up my pump and gladly sent it out to the garage for storage. I didn't care if I ever saw that horrible contraption ever again.
More than a year later, at 18 months, my daughter is still a nursing champ! I was asked by a friend if I would be willing to donate milk to her son. He was very underweight and she was having low-supply issues. I, immediately, said of course. Out came the dreaded pump. It was as horrible as I remembered it. Painful. Pinchy. Swollen and irritated nipples. No letdown. Stressful. I started to worry that pumping like this would negatively impact my daughter's ability to nurse!
To top it all off, I was only getting about 1 oz of breastmilk. Was this painful endeavor ever going to produce anything? After seeing the Ameda Platinum, I chose to rent it for a month. One month of pumping, and then I would decide if I would continue. I was not optimistic.
Words cannot effectively express the complete difference I have experienced pumping with the Ameda Platinum. The suction has been consistent, smooth and painless. I can vary speed and suction strength to suit how my body is feeling, in that moment. Multiple letdowns! It has been amazing! And what is even more amazing, is the quality of milk appears vastly superior. I can see a marked increase in how much hindmilk is being expressed. In addition, I am able to express, generally, at least 1oz more per pumping session than I was when using my other pump.
Best of all, because this pumping experience is pleasant, I will happily continue to pump milk and will help another mom nourish her baby. I will only do so with an Ameda. Thank you for creating a pump that has revolutionized my personal pumping experience.
