Power & Battery Issues

My pump won’t turn on. What should I do?
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 3 seconds (it will not turn on with a quick press).
  • Make sure the pump is fully charged.
  • Disconnect the charging cable before trying to turn it on.

If it still won’t power on, try a hard reset by holding the power button for 15 seconds.

My pump turns off by itself. Is it broken?

Not necessarily. The pump is designed to shut off automatically:

  • After 30 minutes of continuous pumping.
  • After 15 minutes in pause mode.

My battery won’t charge or doesn’t last long.
  • Use a standard 1 or 2 amp charging block (maximum 2 amps). Fast-charging or high-output power blocks may damage the pump motor and should not be used.
  • Make sure the cup is removed from the motor while charging.
  • Charge for a full 2 hours until you see 3 solid bars on the display.
  • If charging fails, try a hard reset (hold power for 15 seconds).
  • The GLO needs to be recharged in between uses, a fully charged battery will only last approximately 100 minutes.

Suction Problems

I have low suction or no suction at all.

Please check the following:

  • Make sure all parts are assembled correctly, especially the valve and diaphragm.
  • Confirm the diaphragm and valve are fully seated to create a tight seal.
  • Inspect parts for tears, holes, or warping from cleaning.

If both pumps have the same issue, it’s more likely related to fit, assembly, or cleaning than a motor problem.

The suction feels uneven or “erratic.”

This is often normal:

  • The pump starts in Stimulation Mode for 2 minutes, then automatically switches to Expression Mode.
  • This transition can feel like a suction change.
  • The pump remembers your last suction level and may return to it automatically.

The pump changes suction level, or the suction level is too high.

The pump suction level is automatically set to the previously used level.  Consider adjusting suction level to a lower setting before use if a previous setting may be too high.

Milk Expression & Leaks

I’m not expressing much milk.
  • Double-check that the pump is assembled correctly and sealed.
  • Make sure the flange size fits properly.
  • Try to relax and give yourself time — milk expression often improves with practice.

Milk is leaking while I pump.

Milk leakage can happen if:

  • The flange size or fit is incorrect.
  • You are pumping while lying down or reclined.
  • The flange is not sealed properly to the collection cup.

  • Always pump in an upright position and ensure a secure fit.
  • Proper valve orientation is critical. Please refer to the IFU for correct valve placement.

Pain or Discomfort

Pumping is uncomfortable or painful.
  • Lower the suction level — the pump is adjustable for comfort.
  • Recheck your flange size; an incorrect size can cause pain or irritation.

Missing or Damaged Parts

I think I’m missing parts from my box.

Your GLO package should include:

  • 2 motors, 2 cups, 24mm flanges, diaphragms, valves, USB-C cables, bra straps, flange inserts, and a nipple sizer.
