Ameda Celebrates WBW 2024

Published:

Happy World Breastfeeding Week! WBW was started in 1992 by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), the World Health Organization (WHO), and UNICEF to promote and support breastfeeding, and is celebrated August 1-7 each year. This year’s theme, CLOSING THE GAP: BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT FOR ALL aligns with Ameda’s mission to empower mothers to meet their breastfeeding goals by providing the highest quality breastfeeding products and education.

To help CLOSE THE GAP and support all mothers in breastfeeding, Ameda is WHO Code Compliant. The World Health Organization adopted standards in the 1980s to protect mothers and babies and the breastfeeding relationship, and Ameda proudly follows those standards.

To CLOSE THE GAP and support moms in situations where they may not have access to power sources to charge their breast pump or may be separated from their baby due to an emergency situation, for the month of August, National Breastfeeding Month, you can BUY ONE, GIVE ONE. For every Ameda breast pump purchased during August, Ameda will donate a manual breast pump to international or domestic aid organizations. Domestically, we’ll donate manual breast pumps to the Inter-Tribal Emergency Management Coalition, an organization supporting Native American tribes. Internationally, we’ll send manual breast pumps to lactation consultants assisting in hospitals in Gaza.

And to help YOU celebrate World Breastfeeding Week, we’ll have some giveaways of breastfeeding products and pumps throughout the month. To enter our giveaways, follow us on Instagram and TikTok @myameda and follow the instructions on the giveaway posts. We’ll be giving away Mya Joy PLUS breast pumps, Universal HygieniKits, CleanEase bags, Pump ‘n Protect storage bags, ComfortGel nipple shields, and Triple Zero lanolin cream.
